The Experience
The Kvichak Lodge is located approximately 240 miles southwest of Anchorage in southwestern Alaska. The lodge is situated about one half mile from the mouth of Lake Illiamna on 12 acres adjoining the Kvichak River. Lake Illiamna is Alaska's largest lake being approximately 50 miles wide and 100 miles long. This is the only designated Trophy Rainbow Trout region in Alaska. The area is accessible only by plane. To reach us, plan on flying to Anchorage, Alaska. There are several airlines who fly from the mainland U.S. to Anchorage: United, American, Delta, Continental and Alaska Airlines. From Anchorage, you take a charter plane directly to the landing strip at Igiugig, which is one-half mile from the Kvichak Lodge. Once you arrive at Igiugig, our 22' canopied in-board jet boat will ferry you across river to the Lodge.
